Rayo 0-2 Mallorca: The Vermilions leave Estadio de Vallecas with 3 points

Mallorca beated Rayo Vallecano 2-0 on Saturday at Estadio de Vallecas. Rayo were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Mallorca were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Real Betis. After today’s result, both teams are on 4 points and occupy 9th and 7th places respectively after 3 matches.

The Vermilions started strongly in the first half, when Vedat Muriqi found the net, 13 minutes in to take them into the break 1-0 up.

Mallorca continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Kang In Lee at the 64 minute mark, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Rayo included Bebe, Sergio Camello, Santi Comesana, Randy Nteka and Jose Pozo for Salvi Sanchez, Unai Lopez, Oscar Trejo, Falcao and Óscar Valentín, repectively. Mallorca replaced Antonio Sanchez, Javier Llabres, Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Abdon with Clement Grenier, Kang In Lee, Dani Rodriguez and Vedat Muriqi.

There were bookings for Óscar Valentín from Rayo. For Mallorca, Clement Grenier, Antonio Sanchez and Copete saw yellow.

Rayo will next travel to Osasuna, while Mallorca will face Girona at home.
