Real Madrid 3-1 Sevilla: Champions win again as Los Nervionenses no match for Real

R Madrid’s 3-1 win over Seville on Saturday, was hard fought at Santiago Bernabeu. RMA were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Elche away and Barcelona at home, by 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. Seville had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Valencia. RMA are now in 1st place, with 31 points from 11 matches, while Seville sit in 14th, with 10 points from 11.

The first half of the match started well for Los Blancos, with an early goal from Luka Modric in the 5th minute, finishing the first half 1-0.

Los Nervionenses staged a comeback in the second half, when Erik Lamela found the net, at 54 minutes. However, each side looked hungry to win and RMA then found the back of the net, 79 minutes in thanks to Lucas Vazquez, taking the score to 2-1. RMA then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Federico Valverde in the 81st minute to give a final score of 3-1.

Substitutions for RMA included Eduardo Camavinga, Antonio Rudiger, Lucas Vazquez, Marco Asensio and Nacho for Aurelien Tchouameni, Ferland Mendy, Dani Carvajal, Luka Modric and David Alaba, respectively. Seville brought on Jose Carmona, Papu Gomez, Rafa Mir and Thomas Delaney, to replace Jesus Navas, Oliver Torres, Isco and Ivan Rakitic.

There were bookings for Aurelien Tchouameni from RMA, and Joan Jordan, Gonzalo Montiel, Nemanja Gudelj and Papu Gomez, for Seville.

Seville and RMA will next play at home to Rayo Vallecano and Girona respectively.
