RMA 4 – Real 1: The White and Blues lose in 5 star performance at Santiago Bernabeu

R Madrid strolled past Real Sociedad with a 4-1 win on Saturday at Santiago Bernabeu. Both RMA and Real arrived on the back of wins. RMA were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Rayo Vallecano away (1-0), the other to Alaves at home (3-0). Real, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Osasuna. As the table looks today, RMA are in 1st place on the table and has 63 points while Real sit in 6th with 44 points after 27 matches.

The White and Blues started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Mikel Oyarzabal giving Real the lead at the 10 minute mark. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Eduardo Camavinga at the 40 minute mark brought Los Blancos level. However they weren’t finished yet and Luka Modric made it 2-1 just before half-time to see out the first half 2-1.

RMA continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Karim Benzema at the 76 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Marco Asensio, 79 minutes in with a final score of 4-1.

For RMA, Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Marcelo, Mariano Diaz and Lucas Vazquez, came on for Rodrygo, Luka Modric, Vinicius Junior, Karim Benzema and Dani Carvajal. Real brought on Nais Djouahra, Rafinha, Aritz Elustondo, Martin Zubimendi and Alexander Sorloth, to replace David Silva, Jon Pacheco, Joseba Zaldua, Illarramendi and Alexander Isak.

The referee booked two players from Real, Joseba Zaldua and Mikel Merino.

RMA will next play Mallorca away, with Real facing Alaves at home.
