RMA 0 – Barca 4: Los Blancos left reeling as Los Blaugranas take points

RMA suffered a home defeat to Barcelona on Sunday at Santiago Bernabeu. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. RMA were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two matches against Mallorca away and Real Sociedad at home, by 3-0 and 4-1 respectively whilst Barca were coming from consecutive wins against Osasuna and Elche. Following today’s result, RMA and Barca currently occupy 1st and 3rd spots in the league, with 66 points and 54 points respectively after 29 matches.
Los Blaugranas didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opening the rout at the 29 minute mark. Barca looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Ronald Araujo in the 38th minute to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Ferran Torres just before half-time. The first half ended 0-3.
Barca staged a comeback in the second half, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finding the net again at the 51 minute mark, leaving the final score at 4-0.
For RMA, Eduardo Camavinga, Mariano Diaz, Lucas Vazquez and Marco Asensio, came on for Toni Kroos, Dani Carvajal, Nacho and Rodrygo. Barca brought on Gavi, Memphis Depay, Adama Traore, Nicolas Gonzalez and Dani Alves, to replace Frenkie De Jong, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ousmane Dembele, Pedri and Jordi Alba.
There were bookings for Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Eduardo Camavinga and Lucas Vazquez from RMA, and Frenkie De Jong, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Nicolas Gonzalez, for Barca.
RMA will next travel to Celta Vigo, while Barca will face Seville at home.
