Osasuna 1 – Villarreal 0: Job done for Los Rojillos at home to The Yellow Submarine

Villarreal fell to an away defeat at the hands of Osasuna at the Estadio El Sadar on Saturday. Osasuna were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Real Sociedad. Villarreal were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Espanyol and Granada. Following today’s result, Osasuna are in 9th place on the table and has 35 points while Villarreal sit in 7th with 42 points after 27 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Los Rojillos applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Ezequiel Avila in the 63rd minute, leaving the final score at 1-0.

For Osasuna, Darko Brasanac, Ante Budimir, Aridane and Oier, came on for Javi Martinez, Kike Garcia, Ezequiel Avila and Ruben Garcia. Villarreal brought on Moi Gomez, Samuel Chukwueze, Boulaye Dia, Manu Trigueros and Francis Coquelin, to replace Alberto Moreno, Yeremi Pino, Giovani Lo Celso, Serge Aurier and Dani Parejo.

The referee booked Ezequiel Avila for Osasuna.

Osasuna will play their next fixture away against Barcelona, while Villarreal will face Celta Vigo at home.
