Osasuna 0-2 Mallorca: The Vermilions win on final day to avoid La Liga relegation

Mallorca defeat Osasuna 2-0 on Sunday at the Estadio El Sadar. Osasuna arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Athletic Bilbao. Mallorca were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Rayo Vallecano in their last match. Following the final whistle at the end of the last game of the LaLiga season, Osasuna and Mallorca sit 10th (47 points) and 16th (39 points) in the table respectively, after a total of 38 matches.

Mallorca started the game well, thanks to Angel Rodriguez finding the net just before half-time, finalising the first half 0-1.

The Vermilions continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Clement Grenier at the 83 minute mark and seeing the game end 2-0.

For Osasuna, Kike Barja, Kike Garcia, Roberto Torres, Inigo Perez and Jesus Areso, came on for Ruben Garcia, Ezequiel Avila, Oier, Jose Angel and Jonas Ramalho. Mallorca brought on Abdon, Dani Rodriguez, Clement Grenier and Franco Russo, to replace Angel Rodriguez, Salva Sevilla, Antonio Sanchez and Jaume Costa.

There were bookings for Darko Brasanac and David Garcia from Osasuna, and Manolo Reina and Pablo Maffeo, for Mallorca.
