Osasuna fell to a home defeat at the hands of Barcelona at Estadio El Sadar on Tuesday. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Osasuna had been hopeful of continuing their good run after winning their previous two matches against Celta Vigo away and Real Valladolid at home, by 2-1 and 2-0 respectively. Barca were coming from consecutive wins against Almería and Valencia. Osasuna are now in 6th place, with 23 points from 14 matches, while Barca sit in 1st, with 37 points from 14.

Los Rojillos found the net first, when David Garcia gave them the lead after only 6 minutes to see them go in at half time 1-0 up.

Barca staged a comeback in the second half, with an early goal from Pedri in the 48th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Raphinha made it 2-1 just before the final whistle to make it 2-1.

Substitutions for Osasuna included Kike Garcia, Darko Brasanac, Ruben Pena, Ante Budimir and Kike Barja for Lucas Torro, Aimar Oroz, Ruben Garcia, Ezequiel Avila and Moi Gomez, respectively. Barca brought on Gavi, Ansu Fati, Raphinha and Chadi Riad, to replace Andreas Christensen, Ferran Torres, Ousmane Dembele and Pedri.

The referee booked Juan Cruz, David Garcia, Lucas Torro and Jon Moncayola from Osasuna. Barca had the worst of it though, with Robert Lewandowski, Jordi Alba and Alejandro Balde seeing yellow, and Robert Lewandowski (2 yellow cards) and Gerard Pique then sent off with a red.

Osasuna will next travel to Real Sociedad, while Barca will face Espanyol at home.
