Seville’s 1-0 win over Mallorca on Saturday, was hard fought at Estadi de Son Moix. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Mallorca were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Elche in their previous game. Seville had secured a point against Athletic Bilbao in their previous match. Mallorca are 12th with 9 points from 9 matches, while Seville sit in 18th, with 6 points from 9.

After a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Seville who started the second half strongly, when Nemanja Gudelj gave them the lead, at 53 minutes, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Mallorca included Dani Rodriguez, Angel Rodriguez, Lago Junior, Amath Ndiaye and Rodrigo Battaglia for Iddrisu Baba, Abdon, Antonio Sanchez, Kang In Lee and Copete, respectively. Seville brought on Jose Carmona, Marcos Acuna, Papu Gomez, Youssef En-Nesyri and Suso, to replace Jesus Navas, Alex Telles, Isco, Erik Lamela and Oliver Torres.

There were bookings for Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Dani Rodriguez from Mallorca. For Seville, Gonzalo Montiel, Marcao and Erik Lamela saw yellow.

Mallorca will next travel to Real Sociedad, while Seville will face Valencia at home.
