Mallorca 0 – Real 2: No home advantage for The Vermilions as The White and Blues win

Mallorca on home loss to Real Sociedad at Estadi de Son Moix on Wednesday. Mallorca were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Valencia while Real were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Osasuna in their last match. Following today’s result, Mallorca and Real currently occupy 16th and 6th spots in the league, with 26 points and 44 points respectively after 21 matches.

Real started the game well, thanks to a goal from David Silva, 35 minutes in, finishing the first half 0-1.

The White and Blues continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Mikel Merino finding the net at the 62 minute mark. The game ended with a 2-0 victory for the visitors.

For Mallorca, Javier Llabres, Matthew Hoppe, Kang In Lee, Iddrisu Baba and Giovanni Gonzalez, came on for Amath Ndiaye, Salva Sevilla, Take, Antonio Sanchez and Pablo Maffeo. Real brought on Martin Zubimendi, Alex Sola, Nais Djouahra, Igor Zubeldia and Illarramendi, to replace Ander Guevara, Aritz Elustondo, Portu, Andoni Gorosabel and Mikel Merino.

The referee booked two players from Real, Mikel Merino and Alex Remiro.

Real and Mallorca will next play away to R Madrid and Celta Vigo respectively.
