Mallorca 1-1 Girona: Exciting climax in draw at Estadi de Son Moix

Mallorca were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Girona on Saturday at Estadi de Son Moix. Mallorca were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match whilst Girona had lost their previous match against Celta Vigo. Mallorca and Girona currently occupy 10th and 13th spots in the table, with 4 points and 3 points respectively after 4 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Mallorca fought back the second half, when Raillo gave them the lead, at 87 minutes. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Samuel Saiz equalised for Girona just before the full time, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Mallorca included Clement Grenier, Abdon and Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta for Antonio Sanchez, Dani Rodriguez and Rodrigo Battaglia, respectively. Girona brought on Toni Villa, Manu Vallejo, Samuel Saiz, Javier Hernandez and Bernardo Espinosa for Reinier, Valentin Castellanos, Rodrigo Riquelme, David Lopez and Miguel Gutierrez.

There were bookings for Rodrigo Battaglia, Vedat Muriqi, Antonio Sanchez and Copete from Mallorca, and Valentin Castellanos and Oriol Romeu, for Girona.

Mallorca will next travel to R Madrid, while Girona will face Real Valladolid at home.
