Also, Athletic Bilbao keep finding ways to win, having secured four victories in their last six matches is astonishing this season. With an eighth position in the league and 8 wins, 5 losses and 10 draws, they currently have 34 points in the League having won eight fixtures, drawn 10 games, and lost five meetings.

Athletic Bilbao’s away record is remarkable and poses a significant threat to Mallorca. In the 12 games they’ve played on the road this season, they have so far won three games, drawn eight meetings, and lost one game.

A victory for Athletic Bilbao would put them on 37 points.

A solid defensive team

It’s an easy statement to make, but to win you simply have to score more goals than your opponent. Athletic Bilbao have been consistently applying this principle, whilst remaining defensively solid as a unit this season, with 18 goals in their previous fixtures. Despite delivering often average performance, their goal scoring stats have been good (23). Their stand out attacking players have been Oihan Sancet (5), Inaki Williams (5), and Inigo Martinez (3).

Athletic Bilbao may have to resort to second choice players, given the number of first choice players that are now unavailable through injury, illness or suspension.
