Mallorca 1 – Almería 0: Victory denied for visitors as The Vermilions win

Almería fell to an away defeat at the hands of Mallorca at Estadi de Son Moix on Saturday. Both Mallorca and Almería arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Mallorca were looking forward to playing again after losing 4-1 to R Madrid in their last match. Almería had lost their previous match against Osasuna. Mallorca are currently 8th with 8 points from 6 matches, while Almería sit in 14th, with 4 points from 6.

Mallorca started the first half well, with a goal from Pablo Maffeo, at 25 minutes to take them into the break 1-0 up. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

Substitutions for Mallorca included Dani Rodriguez, Iddrisu Baba, Abdon and Angel Rodriguez for Antonio Sanchez, Clement Grenier, Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta and Vedat Muriqi, respectively. Almería brought on Arnau Puigmal, Gonzalo Melero, Francisco Portillo, Dyego Sousa and Adri Embarba, to replace Pozo, Lazaro, Lucas Robertone, El Bilal Toure and Chumi.

There were bookings for Inigo Ruiz de Galarreta, Jaume Costa and Kang In Lee from Mallorca. For Almería, Lucas Robertone, Chumi, Largie Ramazani, Rodrigo Ely, Arnau Puigmal and Dyego Sousa saw yellow.

Mallorca will next play Barcelona at home, with Almería facing Athletic Bilbao away.
