Levante 2 – Seville 3: Travelling fans rewarded with Los Nervionenses victory

Seville enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Levante at the Ciutat de Valencia on Thursday. Levante had been hopeful of continuing their run, following a 4-1 victory against Granada. Seville were beaten 3-2 in the previous match against R Madrid. After today’s result, Levante and Seville currently occupy 19th and 4th spots in the league, with 25 points and 60 points respectively after 33 matches.

Seville started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Jesus Corona in the 14th minute. However, they didn’t maintain the lead for long though, an equalizer from Jose Luis Morales at the 22 minute mark, brought The Frogs level. Los Nervionenses in turn, then responded, at 27 minutes increasing their lead with a 2nd effort from Jesus Corona, finalising the first half 1-2.

Seville continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Jules Kounde at the 82 minute mark. Levante in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Roberto Soldado and seeing the game end 3-2.

For Levante, Oscar Duarte, Enis Bardhi, Alejandro Cantero, Roberto Soldado and Marcelo Saracchi, came on for Sergio Postigo, Gonzalo Melero, Ruben Vezo, Dani Gomez and Jorge Miramon. Seville brought on Thomas Delaney, Gonzalo Montiel, Oliver Torres, Rafa Mir and Ludwig Augustinsson for Joan Jordan, Jesus Navas, Youssef En-Nesyri, Papu Gomez and Marcos Acuna.

There were bookings for Pepelu from Levante. For Seville, Joan Jordan, Jesus Navas, Gonzalo Montiel, Marcos Acuna and Rafa Mir saw yellow.

Levante will play away against Valencia, while Seville will face Cádiz at home.
