Levante will be keen to retain their winning form, having beaten Granada 1-4 in their last match.

Also, these are challenging times for Alessio Lisci’s Levante, having suffered 11 losses in 20 games, and taking them into relegation territory. This is a run of form that has to be stopped quickly. They currently stand twentieth in the League, with 25 points for a total of 5 wins, 17 losses and 10 draws having won five meetings, drawn 10 fixtures, and lost 17 matches.

Playing at home, Levante have won three games, drawn seven meetings, and lost six games.

A win in this fixture, would take Levante’s points from 25 to 28, so far this season.

Alessio Lisci could be missing up to six of their players through injury or illness for the game on Thursday.

Seville go into this meeting with 60 points secured

This match sees Seville looking for a return to form, following a defeat in their last match against R Madrid.

Also, slow and steady wins the race, Seville are showing that they know by avoiding defeat in 16 of their last 18 matches and they are looking worthy of the aspiration to qualify for Champion’s League football. Now they have 16 matches won, 4 games lost and 12 duels drawn; that’s why they currently sit in third place, with a total of 60 points having won 16 fixtures, drawn 12 meetings, and lost four matches.

Seville’s away record is remarkable and poses a significant threat to Levante. In the 16 games they’ve played on the road this season, they have so far won five games, drawn eight fixtures, and lost three matches.

Victory for Seville would take their points tally to 63 so far this season.

A solid defensive team

Seville have shown a decent defensive solidity, having so far only conceded 25 goals in their previous fixtures. The number of goals that a team scores can sometimes give a misleading impression of performance. Seville have found the net 46 times (45 from open play and one penalty), but their performance at times this season has been average. This is largely down to the efforts of their stand-out attackers – Rafa Mir (3), Papu Gomez (3), and Ivan Rakitic (2).

Julen Lopetegui will be forced to make changes to the plans for his squad, as injury or illness has depleted him of four of his Seville players.
