Levante 2 – Real 1: The Frogs deliver decisive win at the Ciutat de Valencia

Real Sociedad on away loss to Levante at the Ciutat de Valencia on Friday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Levante arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 1-1 draw against Valencia. Real are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. After today’s result, Levante and Real currently occupy 19th and 6th spots in the table, with 29 points and 56 points respectively after 35 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, The Frogs certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, thanks to Jorge Miramon finding the net, at 53 minutes. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from David Silva at the 66 minute mark brought Real level. Levante in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Gonzalo Melero. The game ended with a 2-1 win for Levante.

For Levante, Enis Bardhi, Gonzalo Melero, Roger Marti, Sergio Postigo and Mickael Malsa, came on for Dani Gomez, Jose Campana, Nemanja Radoja, Oscar Duarte and Jose Luis Morales. Real brought on Portu, Adnan Januzaj and Illarramendi, to replace Andoni Gorosabel, Rafinha and Mikel Merino.

There were bookings for Rober Pier and Sergio Postigo from Levante, and Alexander Isak, Diego Rico Salguero and Robin Le Normand, for Real.

Levante will play away against R Madrid, while Real will face Cádiz at home.
