Granada on Saturday lost to Villarreal on a home defeat at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes. Granada were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Real Sociedad. Villarreal had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with R Madrid. As things stand, Granada are in 17th place, with 24 points from 25 matches, while Villarreal sit in 4th, with 39 points from 25.

Granada took the initiative in the second half, with Luis Milla finding the net at the 61 minute mark. However, Villarreal increased their lead following another Arnaut Danjuma goal, at 81 minutes to make it 3-1. The Yellow Submarine then scored again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Moi Gomez just before the final whistle to make it 4-1.
