Girona 1-1 Cádiz: Honours even at Estadi Montilivi in tight clash

Girona were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Cádiz on Saturday at Estadi Montilivi. Girona were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 2-1 to Atletico Madrid. Cádiz had secured a point against Espanyol in their previous match. Girona are now in 15th place on the table and have 7 points while Cádiz sit in 19th with 5 points after 9 matches.

gaditano found the net first, with a goal from Alex just before half-time and managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Girona took the initiative in the second half, when Cristhian Stuani found the net just before the full time, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Girona included Cristhian Stuani, Manu Vallejo, Toni Villa and Valery Fernandez for Javier Hernandez, Yangel Herrera, Rodrigo Riquelme and Miguel Gutierrez, respectively. Cádiz brought on Jose Mari, Anthony Lozano, Joseba Zaldua, Juan Cala and Brian Ocampo, to replace Fede San Emeterio, Alvaro Negredo, Isaac Carcelén, Ivan Alejo and Alex.

There were bookings for Aleix Garcia, Santiago Bueno, Martinez Arnau, Valentin Castellanos and Cristhian Stuani from Girona, and Ruben Sobrino, Fede San Emeterio, Ruben Alcaraz and Alfonso Espino, for Cádiz.

Girona will next travel to Almería, while Cádiz will face Real Betis at home.
