Getafe 1 – Villarreal 2: Visitors at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez secure victory

Getafe fell to a home defeat at the hands of Villarreal at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez on Saturday. Getafe were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 2-0 to R Madrid. Villarreal, on the other hand, are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As it stands, Getafe and Villarreal currently occupy 15th and 7th spots in the league, with 32 points and 49 points respectively after 32 matches.

Villarreal dominated the first half, thanks to Gerard Moreno finding the net early in the first half. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Manu Trigueros, 16 minutes in to secure a 0-2 win.

Deep Blues took the lead in the second half, with Enes Unal finding the net, 63 minutes in. The game ended with a 2-1 victory for the visitors.

For Getafe, Borja Mayoral, Oscar, Gonzalo Villar and Juan Iglesias, came on for Erick Cabaco, Carles Alena, Sandro Ramirez and Damian Suarez. Villarreal brought on Arnaut Danjuma, Giovani Lo Celso, Yeremi Pino, Etienne Capoue and Moi Gomez, to replace Paco Alcacer, Gerard Moreno, Samuel Chukwueze, Dani Parejo and Manu Trigueros.

The referee booked Damian Suarez and Mauro Arambarri for Getafe.

Getafe will next travel to Celta Vigo, while Villarreal will face Valencia at home.
