Getafe 2 – Alaves 2: Points shared at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez after draw

Getafe were held to 2-2 draw by Alaves down on Saturday at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez. Getafe wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Cádiz in their previous game. Alaves, on the other hand, lost 3-0 in the last match they played against R Madrid. After today’s result, Getafe and Alaves sit 15th, (27 points) and 18th, (21 points), spots respectively, after 26 matches.
The glorious one started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Gonzalo Escalante giving Alaves the lead just before half-time, to take a 0-1 lead into half time.
Deep Blues fought back, with Enes Unal finding the net in the 55th minute. However, each side looked hungry to win and Alaves then found the back of the net, 56 minutes in thanks to Edgar Mendez, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Enes Unal equalised for Getafe in the 72nd minute and seeing the game end 2-2.
For Getafe, Borja Mayoral, Oscar, Juan Iglesias and Jaime Mata, came on for Sandro Ramirez, Damian Suarez, Carles Alena and Enes Unal. Alaves brought on Manu Vallejo, Facundo Pellistri and Pere Pons, to replace Edgar Mendez, Mamadou Loum and Tomas Pina.
The referee booked Damian Suarez and Carles Alena from Getafe and Jorge Cuenca went off with a red card, while Alaves’ Mamadou Loum, Edgar Mendez, Victor Laguardia and Gonzalo Escalante also received a yellow.
Getafe will next travel to Espanyol, while Alaves will face Seville at home.
