Elche 0 – Valencia 1: The Bats get valuable away win at Estadio Martínez Valero

Valencia eased past Elche in a 1-0 victory on Saturday at Estadio Martínez Valero. Elche were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against Granada. Valencia, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Getafe. As it stands, Elche are in 14th place on the table and has 32 points while Valencia sit in 9th with 37 points after 29 matches.
Following a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on The Bats who started the second half well, thanks to an early goal from Goncalo Guedes in the 50th minute, leaving the final score at 1-0.
For Elche, Josan, Tete Morente, Omar Mascarell, Kike Perez and Guido Carrillo, came on for Antonio Barragan, Ezequiel Ponce, Raúl Guti, Gerard Gumbau and Fidel. Valencia brought on Moriba Ilaix, Denis Cheryshev, Uros Racic, Helder Costa and Hugo Duro, to replace Mouctar Diakhaby, Bryan Salvatierra, Yunus Musah, Goncalo Guedes and Maxi Gomez.
The referee booked seven players. Antonio Barragan, Gonzalo Verdu and Fidel from Elche, who saw yellow cards and Johan Mojica, sent off with a red, as well as for Valencia Dimitri Foulquier, Mouctar Diakhaby and Bryan Salvatierra received yellows.
Elche will next play Athletic Bilbao away, with Valencia facing Cádiz at home.
