Elche 3 – Mallorca 0: No reply as ilicitano cruise to 3 at Estadio Martínez Valero

Elche suffered an away loss to Elche on Saturday at Estadio Martínez Valero. Elche were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 2-1 to Real Sociedad. Mallorca had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Atletico Madrid. Following today’s result, Elche are in 13th place on the table and has 35 points while Mallorca sit in 17th with 29 points after 32 matches.

Elche continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Pedro Bigas at the 58 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Kang In Lee, 81 minutes in with a final score of 3-0.

For Elche, Pere Milla, Gerard Gumbau, Tete Morente, Pablo Piatti and Diego Gonzalez, came on for Fidel, Raúl Guti, Josan, Kike Perez and Pedro Bigas. Mallorca brought on Giovanni Gonzalez, Kang In Lee, Take, Angel Rodriguez and Salva Sevilla, to replace Jaume Costa, Pablo Maffeo, Dani Rodriguez, Amath Ndiaye and Iddrisu Baba.

There were bookings for Pedro Bigas and Omar Mascarell from Elche. For Mallorca, Brian Olivan, Iddrisu Baba and Angel Rodriguez saw yellow.

Elche will next travel to Real Betis, while Mallorca will face Alaves at home.
