Elche 0 – Getafe 1: Deep Blues secure 3 points at Estadio Martínez Valero

Elche fell to a home defeat at the hands of Getafe at Estadio Martínez Valero. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Elche were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Espanyol in their previous game. Getafe, meanwhile, had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Celta Vigo. Elche are now in 20th place on the table and have 4 points while Getafe sit in 14th with 13 points after 12 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Getafe certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, when Enes Unal gave them the lead in the 54th minute, sealing a 1-0 victory for the away side.

Substitutions for Elche included Ezequiel Ponce, Josan and Nicolas Ezequiel Fernandez Mercau for Pol Lirola, Tete Morente and Gonzalo Verdu, respectively. Getafe replaced Damian Suarez, Nemanja Maksimovic, Borja Mayoral and Carles Alena for Jordan Amavi, Angel Algobia, Gaston Alvarez and Portu.

Elche will next travel to Real Valladolid, while Getafe will face Cádiz at home.
