Celta 1 – RMA 2: Visitors ecstatic after win at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos

R Madrid beats Celta Vigo 2-1 on Saturday at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos. Celta arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a scoreless draw against Real Betis in their previous match while RMA were beaten 4-0 in the previous match against Barcelona. After today’s result, Celta and RMA currently occupy 11th and 1st spots in the league, with 36 points and 69 points respectively after 30 matches.

RMA started well, with a goal from Karim Benzema at the 19 minute mark, finishing the first half 0-1.

Celta started the second half with renewed vigour, thanks to Nolito finding the net at the 52 minute mark. Los Blancos in turn, then responded in the 69th minute increasing their lead with a second effort from Karim Benzema. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-1 to RMA.

For Celta, Franco Cervi, Renato Tapia, Santi Mina and Orbelin Pineda, came on for Thiago Galhardo, Nolito, Fran Beltran and Brais Mendez. RMA brought on Dani Carvajal, Rodrygo, Federico Valverde, Dani Ceballos and Nacho, to replace Lucas Vazquez, Marco Asensio, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Eder Militao.

The referee booked Javi Galan, Thiago Galhardo and Jeison Murillo for Celta.

Celta will next play Espanyol away, with RMA facing Getafe at home.
