Celta 1-0 Osasuna: Los Rojillos get valuable away win at Municipal de Balaidos

Osasuna defeated Celta Vigo 2-1 on Saturday at Municipal de Balaidos. Celta arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing their last match 3-1 to Almería. Osasuna were coming off the back of a 2-0 win against Real Valladolid. Celta and Osasuna currently occupy 17th and 5th spots in the league, with 11 points and 23 points respectively after 13 matches.

Osasuna started strongly in the first half, when Ezequiel Avila found the net, 8 minutes in. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Iago Aspas producing an equaliser, 19 minutes in, bringing Celta level. Los Rojillos in turn, then responded, 28 minutes in increasing their lead with a second effort from Ezequiel Avila, ending the first half 2-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 2-1.

Substitutions for Celta included Goncalo Paciencia, Williot Swedberg and Pablo Duran for Carles Perez, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Franco Cervi, respectively. Osasuna brought on Nacho Vidal, Kike Garcia, Jon Moncayola, Darko Brasanac and Ruben Garcia for Kike Barja, Ante Budimir, Aimar Oroz, Ruben Pena and Ezequiel Avila.

There were bookings for Williot Swedberg from Celta. For Osasuna, Unai Garcia, Ezequiel Avila, Aimar Oroz, Aitor Fernandez and Kike Garcia saw yellow.

Celta will play their next fixture away against Rayo Vallecano, while Osasuna will face Barcelona at home.
