Barca 2 – Mallorca 1: Home victory for Los Blaugranas against The Vermilions

On Sunday, Mallorca suffer an away defeat to Barcelona at the Nou Camp. Both sides arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Barca were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 1-0 victory against Real Sociedad whilst Mallorca had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Alaves. As it stands, Barca are in 2nd place on the table and has 66 points while Mallorca sit in 16th with 32 points after 34 matches.
Barca started the first half well, with Memphis Depay giving Barca the lead in the 25th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.
Los Blaugranas started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to Sergio Busquets finding the net at the 54 minute mark. The Vermilions in turn, then responded, 79 minutes in increasing their lead with an effort from Raillo, leaving the final score at 2-1.
For Barca, Eric Garcia, Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele and Clement Lenglet, came on for Gerard Pique, Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Dani Alves. Mallorca replaced Take, Clement Grenier, Kang In Lee, Salva Sevilla and Matthew Hoppe with Fernando Nino, Dani Rodriguez, Rodrigo Battaglia, Antonio Sanchez and Angel Rodriguez.
There were bookings for Gavi and Jordi Alba from Barca, and Raillo, Clement Grenier and Pablo Maffeo, for Mallorca.
Barca will next play Real Betis away, with Mallorca facing Granada at home.
