Barcelona 1-0 Celta: Pedri nets a winner for Barca at the Nou Camp
Barcelona strolled past Celta Vigo with a 1-0 win on Sunday at the Nou Camp. Both Barca and Celta arrived at the challenge after previous wins. Barca were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Mallorca away (1-0), the other to Elche at home (3-0). Celta, meanwhile, were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Real Betis. Barca are now in 1st place on the table and have 22 points while Celta sit in 11th with 10 points after 8 matches.
Los Blaugranas started strongly in the first half, when Pedri found the net, 17 minutes in to see them go in at half time 1-0 up. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.
Substitutions for Barca included Ansu Fati, Frenkie De Jong, Ousmane Dembele, Sergi Roberto and Eric Garcia for Ferran Torres, Pedri, Raphinha, Alejandro Balde and Jordi Alba, respectively. Celta brought on Carles Perez, Augusto Solari, Goncalo Paciencia and Óscar Mingueza, to replace Jorgen Strand Larsen, Gabriel Veiga, Franco Cervi and Hugo Mallo.
There were bookings for Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets from Barca, and Unai Nunez, Joseph Aidoo and Oscar, for Celta.
Barca will next play R Madrid away, with Celta facing Real Sociedad at home.
