Barcelona 4-0 Athletic Bilbao: Los Blaugranas cruise past The Lions at the Nou Camp

Barcelona ease to a comfortable 4-0 win at the Nou Camp. Barca were looking to continue their good run, following a 3-0 victory against Villarreal. Athletic Bilbao had secured a point against Getafe in their previous match. Barca are now in 2nd place, with 28 points from 11 matches, while Athletic Bilbao sit in 6th, with 18 points from 11.

Barca didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Ousmane Dembele opened the rout, at 12 minutes. Los Blaugranas looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Sergi Roberto in the 18th minute to establish a 2-0. However they weren’t finished yet and Robert Lewandowski made it 3-0, at 22 minutes to see out the first half 3-0.

Barca continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Ferran Torres, at 73 minutes, seing the match finish 4-0.

Substitutions for Barca included Franck Kessie, Marcos Alonso, Ansu Fati, Ferran Torres and Pablo Torre Carral for Gavi, Jules Kounde, Robert Lewandowski, Pedri and Ousmane Dembele, respectively. Athletic Bilbao replaced Ander Herrera, Dani Garcia, Oscar De Marcos, Oier Zarraga and Inaki Williams for Dani Garcia, Oihan Sancet, Inigo Lekue, Unai Vencedor and Raul Garcia.

There were bookings for Sergio Busquets and Eric Garcia from Barca. For Athletic Bilbao, Oscar De Marcos and Mikel Vesga saw yellow.

Barca will next travel to Valencia, while Athletic Bilbao will face Villarreal at home.
