Barca 4 – Athletic Bilbao 0: No mercy for The Lions as Los Blaugranas take the points

Barcelona snatched all three points from Athletic Bilbao in a 4-0 victory on Sunday, at the Nou Camp. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Barca were looking to pick up points, following a 4-1 victory against Valencia. Athletic Bilbao, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 4-0 victory against Real Sociedad. As the table looks today, Barca and Athletic Bilbao currently occupy 4th and 8th spots in the league, with 45 points and 37 points respectively after 26 matches.

Los Blaugranas scored first, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opening the rout at the 37 minute mark, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Barca continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Ousmane Dembele at the 73 minute mark. Los Blaugranas looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Luuk De Jong at the 90 minute mark to establish a 3-0. Barca then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Memphis Depay just before the final whistle with a final score of 4-0.

For Barca, Ousmane Dembele, Frenkie De Jong, Memphis Depay, Nicolas Gonzalez and Luuk De Jong, came on for Ferran Torres, Gavi, Adama Traore, Sergio Busquets and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Athletic Bilbao brought on Inigo Martinez, Oihan Sancet, Dani Garcia, Nicholas Williams and Inaki Williams, to replace Yeray Alvarez, Raul Garcia, Mikel Vesga, Oier Zarraga and Asier Villalibre.

There were bookings for Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique from Barca, and Mikel Balenziaga, for Athletic Bilbao.

Barca will play their next fixture away against Elche, while Athletic Bilbao will face Levante at home.
