Athletic Bilbao 4 – Real 0: The Lions blaze past The White and Blues at San Mames Stadium

Athletic Bilbao beat Real Sociedad with a thumping 4-0 victory on Sunday at San Mames Stadium. Athletic Bilbao arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Mallorca while Real had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-0 victory against Granada. As it stands, Athletic Bilbao and Real currently occupy 8th and 7th spots in the league, with 37 points and 38 points respectively after 25 matches.

After a goalless first half, Athletic Bilbao piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Dani Vivian giving The Lions the lead at the 68 minute mark. The momentum was now with Athletic Bilbao, who then scored again through a goal from Oihan Sancet, 72 minutes in to establish a 2-0. Athletic Bilbao will next travel to Barcelona, while Real will face Osasuna at home.
