Almería 1-0 Getafe: Deep Blues unable to find an answer against Almería

Almería defeated Getafe 1-0 on Wednesday at Estadio Del Mediterráneo. Almería were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 2-0 to Barcelona. Getafe had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Cádiz. Almería and Getafe currently occupy 14th and 15th spots in the table, with 16 points and 14 points respectively after 14 matches.

Almería started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Leo Baptistao gave them the lead on the 26 minute mark, finishing the first half 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.

Substitutions for Almería included Largie Ramazani, Francisco Portillo, Eguaras, Samu and Dyego Sousa for Leo Baptistao, Adri Embarba, Lucas Robertone, El Bilal Toure and Gonzalo Melero, respectively. Getafe brought on Munir El Haddadi and Juan Latasa, to replace Nemanja Maksimovic and Jordan Amavi.

The referee booked Rodrigo Ely, Leo Baptistao, César De La Hoz, Lucas Robertone, Fernando Martinez, Srdjan Babic and Largie Ramazani from Almería and Rodrigo Ely (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Getafe’s Omar Alderete, Carles Alena, Munir El Haddadi and Juan Iglesias also received a yellow.

Almería will next travel to Cádiz, while Getafe will face Mallorca at home.
