Viktoria 2 – Barca 4: Home advantage neutralised by Los Blaugranas
Barcelona defeated Viktoria Pilsen 4-2 on Tuesday at Doosan Arena. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Viktoria were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 4-0 to Internazionale in their last match whilst Barca had lost their previous match against Bayern Munich. Following this match, Viktoria are now in 4th place on the table and have 0 points while Barca sit in 3rd with 7 points after 6 matches.
It was an impressive opening from Los Blaugranas, when Marcos Alonso gave them the lead early in the first half. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Ferran Torres just before half-time, finishing the first half 2-0.
Viktorka started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Tomas Chory found the net in the 51st minute. However, Barca increased their lead 3-1 thanks to a second effort from Ferran Torres, 54 minutes in. However, Viktoria refused to lie down and managed to pull back a 2nd effort from Tomas Chory in the 63rd minute. In the end though, Barca increased their advantage thanks to a Pablo Torre Carral goal, at 75 minutes, leaving the final score at 4-2.
Substitutions for Viktoria included Milan Havel, Pavel Bucha, Ales Cermak, Fortune Akpan Bassey and Adam Kronus for Vaclav Jemelka, Modou N’Diaye, Lukas Kalvach, Tomas Chory and Vaclav Pilar, respectively.
