Man City 3 – Seville 1: Cityzens prevail in home win against Los Nervionenses

Manchester City defeated Seville 3-1 on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium. Man City were on the hunt for more points after a scoreless draw against Borussia Dortmund in their previous match. Seville were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-0 win against Copenhague in their last match. Following the final whistle at the end of the last match of the Champions League season for both sides, Man City are now in 1st place on the table and have 14 points while Seville sit in 3rd with 5 points after 6 matches.

Los Nervionenses started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Rafa Mir on the 31 minute mark, saw out the first half 1-0.

Man City started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Rico Lewis found the net on the 52 minute mark. The momentum was again with Cityzens, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Julian Alvarez in the 73rd minute to establish a 2-1 result. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Riyad Mahrez on the 83 minute mark to give a final score of 3-1.

Substitutions for Man City included Rodri, Bernardo Silva, Josh Wilson-Esbrand, Kevin De Bruyne and Joao Cancelo for Jack Grealish, Ilkay Gundogan, Sergio Gomez, Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis, respectively. Seville brought on Nemanja Gudelj, Suso, Alex Telles, Erik Lamela and Joan Jordan, to replace Marcao, Papu Gomez, Marcos Acuna, Isco and Ivan Rakitic.
