Sporting 1-2 Frankfurt: The Eagles travel to Jose Alvalade and seal win

Eintracht Frankfurt secured a 2-1 victory against Sporting CP at Jose Alvalade on Tuesday. Sporting were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in their previous game. Frankfurt, meanwhile, were coming off the back of a 2-1 win against Olympique de Marseille. Following the final whistle at the end of the last match of the Champions League season for both sides, Sporting and Frankfurt are 3rd (7 points) and 2nd (10 points) in the final table respectively, after a total of 6 matches.

Sporting started the match strongly, when Arthur Gomes gave them the lead on the 39 minute mark, concluding the first half 1-0.

The Eagles continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Daichi Kamada on the 62 minute mark. Frankfurt then scored once more and turned the match thanks to a goal from Randal Kolo Muani, 72 minutes in to make it 2-1.

Substitutions for Sporting included Matheus Reis, Dario Essugo, Trincao and Jovane Cabral for Nuno Santos, Manuel Ugarte, Marcus Edwards and Juste, respectively. Frankfurt replaced Sebastian Rode, Ansgar Knauff, Rafael Borre, Hrvoje Smolcic and Faride Alidou with Jesper Lindstrom, Eric Ebimbe, Randal Kolo Muani, Kristijan Jakic and Mario Gotze.

There were bookings for Matheus Reis, Paulinho and Goncalo Inacio from Sporting, and Kristijan Jakic, Daichi Kamada, Djibril Sow and Luca Pellegrini, for Frankfurt.
