Sevilla 0-4 Manchester City: Haaland on target as City ease to big away win

Seville lost their first match in the new Champions League season against Manchester City. Today’s result, Seville are currently 4th with 0 points from 1 match, while Man City sit in 1st, with 3 points from 1.

The first half of the match started favourably for Cityzens, when Erling Haaland opened the rout, at 20 minutes, ending the first half 1-0.

Man City continued to apply pressure in the second period, when Phil Foden found the net, at 58 minutes. Man City looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a 2nd effort from Erling Haaland, 67 minutes in to establish a 3-0. However they weren’t finished yet and Ruben Dias made it 4-0 just before the full time to make it 4-0.

Substitutions for Seville included Joan Jordan, Rafa Mir, Kasper Dolberg, Suso and Adnan Januzaj for Thomas Delaney, Ivan Rakitic, Alex Telles, Papu Gomez and Isco, respectively. Man City brought on Ilkay Gundogan, Cole Palmer, Julian Alvarez, Riyad Mahrez and Kalvin Phillips, to replace Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Rodri.

The referee booked Rafa Mir for Seville.

In the second round of action in the Champions League Seville will play against Copenhague away and Man City will play against Borussia Dortmund at home.
