Atleti will be in the quarterfinals after winning the return leg 1-0 against Man U. When the two sides previously met at Wanda Metropolitano, the score ended 1-1. With this result, we will continue to see Atleti for at least one more round in the Champions League.

Atleti started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Renan Lodi giving Los Colchoneros the lead just before half-time and seeing the first half out 0-1. Both teams struggled to produce anything in the second half and the game ended 1-0.

For Man U, Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani and Juan Mata, came on for Anthony Elanga, Bruno Fernandes, Scott Mctominay, Fred and Harry Maguire. Atleti brought on Geoffrey Kondogbia, Felipe and Angel Correa, to replace Koke, Joao Felix and Antoine Griezmann.

There were bookings for Nemanja Matic and Diogo Dalot from Man U, and Rodrigo De Paul and Hector Herrera, for Atleti.

Los Colchoneros now march on to the next stage, having dispatched their opponents in the last. This was a result that will give them renewed confidence going forward.
