Frankfurt 0-3 Sporting: Visitors cruise past The Eagles in one-sided contest

Sporting CP see Eintracht Frankfurt off 3-0 on Wednesday at the Commerzbank Arena. Today’s result, Frankfurt are now in 4th place on the table and have 0 points while Sporting sit in 1st with 3 points after 1 match.

After an uneventful first half, Sporting continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Marcus Edwards, 65 minutes in. The momentum was again with Sporting, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Trincao on the 67 minute mark to establish a 2-0 result. However they weren’t finished yet and Nuno Santos made it 3-0, 82 minutes in to give a final score of 3-0.

Substitutions for Frankfurt included Luca Pellegrini, Rafael Borre, Lucas Alario, Ansgar Knauff and Makoto Hasebe for Christopher Lenz, Eric Ebimbe, Jesper Lindstrom, Kristijan Jakic and Daichi Kamada, respectively. Sporting brought on Luis Neto, Rochinha, Nuno Santos and Paulinho for Juste, Marcus Edwards, Pedro Goncalves and Trincao.

There were bookings for Evan N`Dicka and Kristijan Jakic from Frankfurt, and Hidemasa Morita, for Sporting.
