Zagreb 1-1 Salzburg: Salzburg avoid defeat on the road
On Tuesday, Zagreb and Salzburg played out a 1-1 draw at the Stadion Maksimir. Zagreb were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 1-0 to FC Salzburg in their previous fixture. Salzburg, meanwhile, were coming from a 1-0 win against Dinamo Zagreb. Zagreb are now in 3rd place on the table and have 4 points while Salzburg sit in 2nd with 6 points after 4 matches.
Salzburg dominated the first half, when Nicolas Seiwald gave them the lead, 12 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Robert Ljubicic equalised for Zagreb just before half-time and saw the first half out 1-1. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.
Substitutions for Zagreb included Josip Drmic, Sadegh Moharrami, Petar Bockaj, Martin Baturina and Marko Bulat for Arijan Ademi, Stefan Ristovski, Dario Spikic, Luka Ivanusec and Josip Misic, respectively. Salzburg brought on Chukwubuike Adamu and Roko Simic, to replace Noah Okafor and Benjamin Sesko.
There were bookings for Luka Ivanusec from Zagreb, and Strahinja Pavlovic and Luka Sucic, for Salzburg.
Salzburg and Zagreb will next play at home to Chelsea and AC Milan respectively.
