Chelsea open Champions League campaign with a defeat against Dinamo Zagreb. Today’s result, leave both teams on 0 points and occupying 3rd and 2nd positions respectively, after their first match.

Zagreb found the net first, when Mislav Orsic gave them the lead, 13 minutes in, ending the first half 1-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

Substitutions for Zagreb included Rasmus Lauritsen, Dario Spikic, Martin Baturina and Josip Drmic for Sadegh Moharrami, Mislav Orsic, Arijan Ademi and Bruno Petkovic, respectively. Chelsea brought on Hakim Ziyech, Jorginho, Armando Broja, Marc Cucurella and Christian Pulisic, to replace Cesar Azpilicueta, Mateo Kovacic, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling.

There were bookings for Martin Baturina from Zagreb, and Mason Mount and Kalidou Koulibaly, for Chelsea.

In the second round of action in the Champions League Zagreb will play against AC Milan away and Chelsea will play against FC Salzburg at home.
