Wolfsburg on away loss to Union Berlin at the An der Alten Försterei Stadium on Sunday. Both Union Berlin and Wolfsburg arrived on the back of wins. Union Berlin were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt. Union Berlin are now in 1st place, with 17 points from 7 matches, while Wolfsburg sit in 17th, with 5 points from 7.

After a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Union Berlin who started the second half strongly, when Jordan Siebatcheu found the net, 54 minutes in. However they weren’t finished yet and Sheraldo Becker made it 2-0 in the 77th minute to make it 2-0.

Substitutions for Union Berlin included Paul Jaeckel, Morten Thorsby, Paul Seguin, Sven Michel and Kevin Behrens for Timo Baumgartl, Janik Haberer, Andras Schafer, Sheraldo Becker and Jordan Siebatcheu, respectively. Wolfsburg brought on Felix Nmecha, Omar Marmoush, Yannick Gerhardt, Jakub Kaminski and Kevin Paredes, to replace Mattias Svanberg, Luca Waldschmidt, Paulo Otavio, Josip Brekalo and Bartol Franjic.
