Schalke 0-2 Bayern Munich: The Reds extend winning streak at the top

Schalke on home loss to Bayern Munich at the Veltins-Arena on Saturday. Both Schalke and Bayern arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Schalke were looking to continue their good run after winning last match. Bayern were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Werder Bremen and Hertha. Schalke are now in 18th place on the table and have 9 points while Bayern sit in 1st with 34 points after 15 matches.

The Reds started the match strongly, when Serge Gnabry found the net, at 38 minutes, concluding the first half 1-0.

Bayern staged a comeback in the second half, with a goal from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting on the 52 minute mark, seing the match finish 2-0.

Substitutions for Schalke included Jordan Larsson, Sidi Sane, Kolo, Danny Latza and Mehmet-Can Aydin for Kenan Karaman, Marius Bulter, Tobias Mohr, Dominick Drexler and Cedric Brunner, respectively. Bayern replaced Leroy Sane, Leon Goretzka, Lucas Hernandez, Kingsley Coman and Jamal Musiala for Matthijs De Ligt, Marcel Sabitzer, Josip Stanisic, Ryan Gravenberch and Paul Wanner.

Next up, Schalke are away to Eintracht Frankfurt, whilst Bayern will travel to face RB Leipzig.
