Union Berlin 1 – Stuttgart 1: Stalemate at the An der Alten Försterei Stadium against The Reds

Union Berlin were held to 1-1 draw by Stuttgart down on Saturday at the An der Alten Försterei Stadium. Union Berlin were hoping to get something from this game after losing 1-0 to Wolfsburg in their previous fixture. Stuttgart were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-2 victory against B Mönchengladbach. As the table looks today, Union Berlin are in 7th place on the table and has 38 points while Stuttgart sit in 16th with 23 points after 26 matches.

Union Berlin started the game well, with a goal from Taiwo Awoniyi just before half-time

Stuttgart took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Sasa Kalajdzic finding the net just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Union Berlin, Andras Schafer, Sven Michel, Andreas Voglsammer and Bastian Oczipka, came on for Kevin Mohwald, Taiwo Awoniyi, Sheraldo Becker and Niko Giesselmann. Stuttgart brought on Pascal Stenzel, Orel Mangala and Tanguy Coulibaly, to replace Konstantinos Mavropanos, Tiago Tomas and Wataru Endo.

There were bookings for Niko Giesselmann, Andras Schafer and Grischa Promel from Union Berlin, and Konstantinos Mavropanos and Hiroki Ito, for Stuttgart.

Union Berlin will next travel to Bayern Munich, while Stuttgart will face Augsburg at home.
