Stuttgart 1 – Bochum 1: Victory elusive at the Mercedes Benz Arena for both sides

Stuttgart were held to 1-1 draw by Bochum down on Saturday at the Mercedes Benz Arena. Stuttgart arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. Bochum were able to continue their winning streak after a 4-2 win against Bayern Munich in their last match. After today’s result, Stuttgart are in 17th place on the table and has 19 points while Bochum sit in 11th with 29 points after 23 matches.

Following a goalless first half, The Reds fought back the second half, thanks to Armel Bella-Kotchap giving Stuttgart the lead in the 56th minute. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Eduard Lowen equalised for Bochum just before the final whistle. The game ended wih a 1-1 draw.

For Stuttgart, Omar Marmoush, Hiroki Ito, Erik Thommy and Philipp Forster, came on for Silas Wamangituka, Omar Marmoush, Chris Fuhrich and Orel Mangala. Bochum brought on Takuma Asano, Eduard Lowen, Kostas Stafylidis and Sebastian Polter for Gerrit Holtmann, Milos Pantovic, Danilo Soares and Jurgen Locadia.

The referee booked four players from Bochum, Patrick Osterhage, Christopher Antwi-Adjej, Cristian Gamboa and Sebastian Polter.

Stuttgart will play their next fixture away against Hoffenheim, while Bochum will face RB Leipzig at home.
