Freiburg 0-0 Gladbach: Frustration all round after goalless draw

On Sunday, Freiburg and Gladbach played out a 0-0 draw at Europa-Park-Stadion. Freiburg were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Bayer Leverkusen away (3-2), the other to Bochum at home (1-0) whilst Gladbach were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against Mainz. Freiburg and Gladbach sit 2nd, (13 points) and 8th, (9 points), in the league respectively, after 6 matches.

Substitutions for Freiburg included Yannik Keitel, Woo-yeong Jeong, Noah Weisshaupt, Kevin Schade and Nils Petersen for Maximilian Eggestein, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, Vincenzo Grifo, Ritsu Doan and Michael Gregoritsch, respectively. Gladbach brought on Nathan N`Goumou Minpole, Hannes Wolf and Yvandro Borges Sanches, to replace Florian Neuhaus, Lars Stindl and Nathan N`Goumou Minpole.

There were bookings for Christian Gunter from Freiburg, and Ramy Bensebaini, for Gladbach.

Freiburg will next travel to Hoffenheim, while Gladbach will face RB Leipzig at home.
