Hoffenheim 2 – Dortmund 3: Die Borussen get narrow win against From Kraichgau region

Borussia Dortmund enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Hoffenheim at the Pre Zero Arena on Saturday. Hoffenheim were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Union Berlin while Dortmund were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against SC Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt. After today’s result, Hoffenheim are currently 6th with 31 points from 20 matches, while Dortmund sit in 2nd, with 43 points from 20.
Dortmund dominated the first half, with Erling Haaland giving Die Borussen the lead after only 6 minutes. However, their lead was short lived, as Andrej Kramaric equalised for Hoffenheim just before half-time, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.
Die Borussen continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Marco Reus at the 58 minute mark. The momentum was now with Dortmund, who then scored again through a goal from David Raum at the 66 minute mark to establish a 3-1. In the end though, From Kraichgau region pull-back in the 77th minute, with a goal from Georginio Rutter. The game ended with a 3-2 victory for the visitors.
For Hoffenheim, Georginio Rutter, Havard Nordtveit, Sebastian Rudy and Jacob Bruun Larsen, came on for Christoph Baumgartner, Benjamin Hubner, Dennis Geiger and David Raum. Dortmund brought on Dan-Axel Zagadou, Thorgan Hazard, Axel Witsel, Youssoufa Moukoko and Marin Pongracic for Marius Wolf, Julian Brandt, Erling Haaland, Donyell Malen and Manuel Akanji.
There were bookings for Sebastian Rudy and Munas Dabbur from Hoffenheim, and Mats Hummels and Jude Bellingham, for Dortmund.
Hoffenheim will next travel to Mainz, while Dortmund will face Bayer Leverkusen at home.
