Hertha 3 – Hoffenheim 0: No reply from From Kraichgau region, as The Old Lady net 3

Hoffenheim fell to an away defeat at the hands of Hertha at the Olympiastadion on Saturday. Hertha were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to B Mönchengladbach. Hoffenheim, on the other hand, are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Hertha are in 16th place on the table and has 26 points while Hoffenheim sit in 6th with 44 points after 27 matches.

Hertha dominated the first half, with Niklas Stark opening the rout, at 39 minutes, which saw the first half end 1-0.

The Old Lady continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Ishak Belfodil at the 63 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Lucas Tousart, at 74 minutes with a final score of 3-0.

For Hertha, Maximilian Mittelstadt, Davie Selke, Anton, Marton Dardai and Linus Jasper Gechter, came on for Suat Serdar, Ishak Belfodil, Marco Richter, Lucas Tousart and Santiago Ascacibar. Hoffenheim brought on Munas Dabbur, Justin Che, Tom Bischof, Havard Nordtveit and Marco John, to replace Dennis Geiger, Kevin Akpoguma, Georginio Rutter, Christoph Baumgartner and David Raum.

There were bookings for Peter Pekarik and Marton Dardai from Hertha. For Hoffenheim, Kevin Akpoguma saw yellow.

Hertha will next travel to Bayer Leverkusen, while Hoffenheim will face Bochum at home.
