Hertha 1-1 Frankfurt: The Old Lady unable to break dead-lock with The Eagles

Hertha were held to 1-1 draw by Frankfurt down on Saturday at the Olympiastadion. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Hertha were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last match 3-1 to Union Berlin. Frankfurt, on the other hand, lost 6-1 in the last match they played against Bayern Munich. As the table looks today, both teams are on 1 point and occupy 13th and 14th places respectively after 2 matches.

Hertha started strongly in the first half, with an early goal from Suat Serdar in the 3rd minute and managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Frankfurt started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from Daichi Kamada in the 48th minute, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Hertha included Derry Lionel Scherhant, Jean-Paul Boetius, Stevan Jovetic and Marton Dardai for Chidera Ejuke, Ivan Sunjic, Wilfried Kanga and Filip Uremovic, repectively. Frankfurt replaced Ansgar Knauff, Mario Gotze, Lucas Alario, Almamy Toure and Daichi Kamada for Faride Alidou, Jesper Lindstrom, Rafael Borre, Makoto Hasebe and Kristijan Jakic.

There were bookings for Maximilian Mittelstadt, Ivan Sunjic and Suat Serdar from Hertha, and Djibril Sow, for Frankfurt.

Hertha will next play B Mönchengladbach away, with Frankfurt facing FC Köln at home.
