Hertha 1 – Bochum 1: The Old Lady held at home by visitors

Hertha were held to 1-1 draw by Bochum down on Friday at the Olympiastadion. Hertha were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Bayern Munich. Bochum are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As it stands, Hertha and Bochum currently occupy 12th and 11th spots in the league, with 23 points and 25 points respectively after 21 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Hertha, thanks to Ishak Belfodil giving The Old Lady the lead at the 23 minute mark and managed to see out the first half 1-0.

Bochum started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from Sebastian Polter in the 48th minute, leaving the final score at 1-1.

For Hertha, Lee Dong-Jun, Marco Richter, Fredrik Bjorkan and Suat Serdar, came on for Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Ishak Belfodil, Myziane Maolida and Maximilian Mittelstadt. Bochum replaced Sebastian Polter, Patrick Osterhage, Christopher Antwi-Adjej and Tarsis Bonga with Robert Tesche, Takuma Asano, Gerrit Holtmann and Jurgen Locadia.

There were bookings for Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Maximilian Mittelstadt and Marco Richter from Hertha, and Armel Bella-Kotchap, for Bochum.

Hertha will next travel to Greuther Fürth, while Bochum will face Bayern Munich at home.
