Greuther Fürth 0 – Gladbach 2: Visitors steal the show at Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer

B Mönchengladbach enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Greuther Fürth at Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer on Saturday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Greuther Fürth were looking for a victory following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt in their previous game. Gladbach had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Mainz. As the table looks today, Greuther Fürth are in 18th place on the table and has 16 points while Gladbach sit in 11th with 37 points after 29 matches.

Gladbach started strongly in the first half, thanks to Marcus Thuram finding the net in the 18th minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Alassane Plea made it 2-0 at the 24 minute mark, which saw the first half end 0-2. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 2-0 at full time.

For Greuther Fürth, Jessic Ngankam, Tobias Raschl, Oliver Fobassam Nawe, Dickson Abiama and Afimico Pululu, came on for Simon Asta, Timothy Tillmann, Julian Green, Gian-Luca Itter and Branimir Hrgota. Gladbach brought on Christoph Kramer, Lars Stindl, Jonas Hofmann, Laszlo Benes and Patrick Herrmann, to replace Florian Neuhaus, Alassane Plea, Marcus Thuram, Kouadio Kone and Stefan Lainer.

The referee booked Timothy Tillmann for Greuther Fürth.

Greuther Fürth will next play Hoffenheim away, with Gladbach facing FC Köln at home.
