Cologne on home loss to Wolfsburg at the Rhein Energie Stadion on Saturday. Cologne were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Augsburg away and Arminia Bielefeld at home, by 4-1 and 3-1 respectively. Wolfsburg were unable to beat Stuttgart in a 1-1 draw. As things stand, Cologne are currently 7th with 52 points from 33 matches, while Wolfsburg sit in 12th, with 41 points from 33.
Wolfsburg scored first, with a goal from Yannick Gerhardt just before half-time, to take a 0-1 lead into half time. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-0.
For Cologne, Dejan Ljubicic, Kingsley Schindler, Louis Schaub, Tim Lemperle and Ondrej Duda, came on for Jan Thielmann, Benno Erik Schmitz, Florian Kainz, Luca Kilian and Mark Uth. Wolfsburg brought on Aster Vranckx, Felix Nmecha, Dodi Lukebakio and Bartosz Bialek, to replace Micky Van de Ven, Max Kruse, Lukas Nmecha and Jonas Wind.
