Cologne 1-1 Hoffenheim: The Billy Goats held at home

On Sunday, Cologne and Hoffenheim played out a 1-1 draw at the Rhein Energie Stadion. Both Cologne and Hoffenheim came from defeats in their previous league games. Cologne were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 5-0 to Mainz, while Hoffenheim had lost their previous match against Bayern Munich. Cologne are now in 10th place on the table and have 17 points while Hoffenheim sit in 7th with 18 points after 12 matches.
The first half of the match started well for Cologne, when Florian Kainz gave them the lead in the 13th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as Jacob Bruun Larsen equalised for Hoffenheim in the 35th minute, finishing the first half 1-1. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-1 at full time.
Substitutions for Cologne included Kingsley Schindler, Mark Uth, Florian Dietz and Sargis Adamyan for Linton Maina, Ondrej Duda, Steffen Tigges and Florian Dietz, respectively. Hoffenheim brought on Kevin Akpoguma, Andrej Kramaric, Quaresma, Angelo Stiller and Georginio Rutter, to replace Stanley Nsoki, Sebastian Rudy, Kevin Vogt, Dennis Geiger and Jacob Bruun Larsen.
The referee booked Ondrej Duda from Cologne. Hoffenheim had the worst of it though, with Ozan Kabak seeing yellow, and Ozan Kabak (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.
Cologne will next play SC Freiburg away, with Hoffenheim facing RB Leipzig at home.
